Poet and writer Jim Harrison spent a lot of his time at his cabin in Grand Marais, MI, in the U.P. I met him once there at his haunt, the Dunes Saloon. He was a great writer. He wrote of a character who would sit in a hollow stump, immersed in the nature. His work was often based on his own life and his walks in the UP woods. It must have been him.
